Pump tests continue to delay the opening of the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates well, a Department of Water Supply spokeswoman said late Friday.
DWS officials are still awaiting final Department of Health acceptance and approvals, Kanani Aton said. While DWS was attempting to refill the reservoir, the pump tripped off.
“The contractor, the DWS and the pump manufacturer have been running tests and analyzing results through today,” Aton wrote. “These tests will determine any deficiencies in the system and the effects, if any, on the equipment.”
The manufacturer is reviewing the data DWS and the contractor collected. Aton said the department expected to hear from the manufacturer about the data analysis sometime next week.
The well is a $6 million project that includes a well, storage tank, transmission pipeline and fill stations.
